Basel
August 31, 2007
An early start, we headed to the Kunstmuseum, where there was a Jasper Johns exhibition. The collection at this museum is very impressive - there are many famous works from the last century and earlier.
Outside lemon trees grew.
In the city centre there are some charming shops and a lot of trams.
Then after a meeting and lunch, we headed out to the Schaulager building.
This is an impressive building. Dedicated to contemporary art, and resembling a municipal car park, the building houses a huge collection of works in storage, with current exhibitions on the ground and basement floors.
In the evening, dinner with Edwin, Arnaud and James.
Thanks a lot!
