Ford GT Road TestThe Gumball 3000 Rally takes place in August, and I'm already setting my mind on the logistics. Two men, one car, 3000 miles, and a party every night to up the stakes. There's got to be a way to do it safely and without going insane. The first order of business? Picking the right car. Sure, we could track down a Rolls Phantom or a Bentley, and I can understand why some would, but the spirit of this rally is about endurance. With that, the great Lorenzo Colberti and I took a late night drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. The purpose was to test the Ford GT for use in the rally. The result? We're taking it.

New Jordan Force Fusion XII. The last few times I've bought sneakers, I've asked to leave the boxes at the store so that they can recycle them. It also makes them easier to carry out. Maybe this plan makes sense for you, too?? Land Rover Roof Tents February 25, 2008

John Cage's 4'33" February 23, 2008
John Cage's most famous musical composition is called 4'33". It was composed in 1952 for any instrument (or combination of instruments), and the score instructs the performer to not play the instrument during the entire duration of the piece. In a 1982 interview, and on numerous other occasions, Cage has stated that 4′33″ is, in his opinion, his most important work. 'In the late 1940s John Cage visited the anechoic chamber at Harvard University. An anechoic chamber is a room designed in such a way that the walls, ceiling and floor will absorb all sounds made in the room, rather than bouncing them back as echoes. They are also generally extremely soundproof. Anechoic chambers are widely used for measuring the acoustic properties of instruments and microphones, and for performing psychoacoustic experiments. Cage entered the chamber expecting to hear silence, but as he wrote later, he "heard two sounds, one high and one low. When I described them to the engineer in charge, he informed me that the high one was my nervous system in operation, the low one my blood in circulation." I don't know if this explanation is accurate, but this experience is often described as the inspiration behind the famous Cage composition 4' 33".' Download the .wav file here Richard PrinceFRANK. "What style of music do I like? I like GOOD." Two insanely SATISFYING albums. When I put an album on, I want is to be satisfied. It's 2008, my ears and eyes are tired and all I want is harmony. I want to hear a bunch of beautiful sounds going together in a beautiful way, pleasing the bejesus out of me. I listen to "In The Wee Small Hours" once a day. It's doing great things for me with the writing of my new album. "Satisfy me" is my new mantra...
