Museum of Modern Art, New York City
November 30, 2008
Today I went to see the new exhibition of Joan Miró and Van Gogh happening
at the MOMA in New York City. Tickets to Van Gogh: The Colors of the Night
were sold out, so I will go back when the night calls again.
Joan Miró : Painting and Anti-Painting 1927-1937 was magnificent !
There were series of paintings I have never seen before, not even in books,
so it was a refreshing look at his paintings and how influential they were in my
opinion, to artists such as Antoni Tápies and Yves Tanguy, for example.
The MOMA permanent collection was also refreshing this time as some of the
works have been rotated. I was especially proud to see at the entrance of the
20th century rooms Cuban painter, African Chinese Cuban: WILFREFO LAM
with his painting The Jungle. Within these walls I was able to capture a few
pictures of some of my favorite painters.
enjoy !
