TOKYO
July 18, 2007
7/10 - 7/16

I met up with Masamichi Katayama for lunch and afterwards we visited a few galleries. (This is what your photo turns out like when you take a picture with a fellow Honeyee blogger.)

One of the spots we visted was RATHOLE gallery which is owned by Nobu, from Hysteric Glamour. They have been publishing great photography books for years and the gallery has a book shop with an amazing collection of rare titles.

This is an Araki book they just put out, it's pretty massive - over 300 pages, and the printing quality is insane.

Thanks to Kei and Ebisu, I got to take full advantage of my jet lag and hang out like I was on NY time!

When I got back to Brooklyn, everything was how I left it except that my shipment of 4' Companions were waiting for me. I'll be releasing them on KAWSONE in the next day or two.

I'm heading to Tokyo tomorrow but if you're in NYC this week, I have two paintings in a group show called POP CENTRIC at Gering & Lopez Gallery.

PARIS - Where the People are Great but the Animals are Mean!
July 3, 2007

I spent the last week in France travelling around and working a bit with my friend Sarah. I haven't been there in six or seven years so I really didn't know what it was going to be like. It turned out to be one of the best trips I've taken in a while. After spending the first night in Paris I travelled a few
hours by train to Nimes to see the countryside and Daft Punk.
The hotel in Nimes,

All the quadrupeds I encountered in France were not very friendly. This guy would not turn around no matter how much I called it..

... and his brother/sister gave me the evil eye all day when I was just trying to relax.

Colosseum turned music venue.

Daft Punk,

Busy P.,

Super Sarah,

And back in Paris a couple days later.. Colette, Sold Out, & La MJC hosted a party for OriginalFake.
Michael and Guillaume,

Nadege showing off one of her multiple talents,

Towards the end of the week, I took another night trip to Versailles to see the group Phoenix perform on the Palace grounds.

My last day was the icing on a week long cake of good meetings and excursions.
Sarah arranged a lunch for us with Matt Groening.
You know I had to nerd out and ask him to sign the first book I could find.

Speaking of the Simpsons, this is the hang tag to the project I did with The Simpsons and Vans.
I'll post other photos of the complete project soon.
