REGARDING DARTH

September 25, 2007

I have been getting a lot of emails asking if the Darth Vader figure will be sold on KAWSONE.COM

The answer is no, it will only be sold at OriginalFake in Tokyo.
(I feel strange making this post but it is easier to write this information here, rather than relpying to each email.)

Last night I went to check out Nigo perform with the Teriyaki Boyz in Central Park. It was their first performance in NYC and they played a great set.

THE DARK SIDE

September 22, 2007

I designed a figure with Star Wars/Lucas Films that will release next Saturday at OriginalFake. I'm not too sure my version of Darth Vader would win a battle any time soon but he seems content with just dressing the part.

Jalouse

September 2, 2007

This week the new issue of Jalouse magazine releases in France. I was invited to work over the cover photo of Cory Kennedy, taken by photographer Jean Baptiste Mondino.

The inside article was written by Michael Dupouy from LaMJC / SoldOut who I met up with during my last Paris trip.

Jalouse usually prints these large posters to advertise in the newsstand kiosks around Paris. Colette also pasted a few across the facade of their building.

This cover brings things full circle for me because when I went to Paris in the late 90's for my exhibition at Colette, Jalouse ads were all over at that time. Naturally, I took a few of them. I painted and put some of them back up on the streets in Paris and also brought some of them back to NYC to put up, downtown. Here is one I put up on Houston Street in '99...Funny how things worked out...
