片山ゼミレポート Vol.11：ゼミ旅行 / Katayama Seminar Report Vol.11: Seminar Trip

去年の11月に遡りますが、学生達とゼミ旅行に行ってきました。
直島、犬島、豊島ではアートを堪能し、最後に訪れた香川では
丹下健三氏により1958年に建てられた香川県庁も見学。
初めてのゼミ旅行でしたが、自分の目で見る、そして感じる大切さを
改めて実感しました。
Back in November 2011, Our university seminar had a group trip and
enjoyed art in Naoshima, Inujima, and Naoshima.
We also went to Kagawa to see Kagawa prefectural government office,
which architect was Kenzo Tange in 1958.
It was my first trip with students, I realized importance of seeing and feeling
with your own eyes and heart.

片山ゼミレポート Vol.10：勝田隆夫特別授業 / Katayama Seminar Report Vol.10: Takao Katsuta

第6回目の特別授業は株式会社LINE の勝田隆夫さんに来ていただきました。
EXIT METAL WORK SUPPLYとして活躍していた時代のお話、独立、
そして現在までのお仕事を説明してもらいました。
特に興味深かったのは、素材のお話でした。実際に使用する素材サンプルを見ながら、
鉄の磨き方、新しい素材をとことん古く見せる方法、
素材の組み合わせ方などかなりマニアックなことまで教えていただきました。
自分の欲しい表現が出来るまで妥協しない精神は、
同業者としても学ぶところが多かったです。
勝田さんありがとうございました。
The 6th special lecture was Takao Katsuta of LINE-INC.
He talked about different period of his career, such as when he was working
as a member of EXIT METAL WORK SUPPLY, when he became independent,
and projects until now.
I am especially interested in the part about the materials. He showed us
actual samples and explained how to buff the steel, how make them look like
as if they were naturally aged, and how to mix materials.
They were quite deep techniques, and I was impressed by his uncompromising stance
as a man in the same business.

先日このブログ上でもお知らせした武蔵野美術大学のオープンレクチャー
instigatorですが、記念すべき第一回目が先日開催されました。
最初のゲストはアートディレクターの佐藤可士和さん。
初めてのホスト役は本当に緊張しましたが、学生達と一緒に
僕自身も楽しみました。
学びに年齢や学歴、職業は関係ないと思うので、僕自身学生に戻ったような
気持ちで第二回、第三回と続けていきたいと思います。
当日ご出演いただいた佐藤可士和さん、
写真撮影を快く引き受けてくれた鈴木心さん、
プロの映像技術で対応してくれた谷聡志さん、
ロゴやポスターを引き受けてくれたgroovisionsさん、
かっこいいスタッフジャケットの制作を担当してくれたLoopwheeler鈴木さん、
家具の協力をしてくださったCassina Ixc.さん、
大学関係者と空間演出デザイン学科の皆様、
そして instigatorをテーマに選曲をしてくれた大沢伸一さん、
本当にありがとうございました。たくさんの方のご協力に感謝します。
I am happy to announce that the open lecture at Musashino Art University called
' instigator' was taken place for the very first time.
The first guest was Kashiwa Sato, art director.
I was a bit nervous because this was my first time to be a host of event,
but I really enjoyed it with students.
Learning is life-long event and it does not matter ages, academic background, or occupation. I am looking forward to continue this event as if I am back at school.
I would like to say thank you to;
Kashiwa Sato, who was the very first guest of the event,
Shin Suzuki, for taking pictures of the event,
Satoshi Tani, with professional team and technique,
groovisions, for creating log and posters,
