ハニカムをご覧の皆様、はじめまして。
ワンダーウォール片山正通です。
これまでは読者としてハニカムを楽しんでいましたが、縁あって仲間入りをすること
になりました。よろしくお願いします。
まずは仕事の紹介から。
独立した92年と言うと、バブル経済崩壊後で仕事はほとんど無く、根本からデザイン
の必要性を問われた頃でした。時間があったという事もあり、随分その事について考
えたものです。ハードはもちろん、ソフトとして機能をしっかり持つ存在としてデザ
インは責任を持つべきで、明解に何かを外に対して、また中に対して提供出来るもの
であるべきだと考えました。簡単に言うと、存在をハッピーに受け入れて貰えるとい
うことが機能かもしれません。
僕はよくリサーチと称してショッピングをするのですが、その甲斐あって一番仕事の
多いジャンルはショップのデザインです。ショップに限りませんが、空間に人が溢れ、
生き生きとした動きを見る時は無性に楽しくなります。なので、空間と人間の関係を
考えることは、ライフワークとさえ言える今日この頃です。
最近では、ショップに加え、オフィスのインテリア、レジデンス、レストラン、ホテ
ル、プロダクトのオファーを日本又海外からも多く頂けるようになり、プロデュース・
ディレクション・インテリアデザインのプロジェクトを進めるなかで、ますますのプレ
ッシャーを楽しんでいるといったところです。
このブログは、あまり重く考えずにプロジェクトの事や何気ない日常を綴っていこう
と思います。

I am Masamichi Katayama of Wonderwall.
I have been enjoying Honeyee as an audience and I am happy to be a blog
member here.
Please let me introduce myself first.
I co-established my previous company in 1992. It was the postbubble period,
and people were having a difficult time managing their businesses. The need
for design was fundamentally called into question, and I also spent a lot of
time thinking of this since I had plenty of time. My answer to this was that
designing should be done responsibly which meant that there needs to be a
balance between function, the practical elements, and the emotional
intuitive elements. In other words, the purpose or intent of design may be to
define function, in this case spaces which are happily accepted to people and
community.
My main area of work is retail space design. It is all because I go for
shopping for the sake of research. I love and truly enjoy seeing spaces
with full of people with a great deal of spirit, so it is becoming a part of
my life and even it can be called as life's work, to think about the
relationships between space and human.
In addition to retail space design, I also design corporate offices, restaurants,
hotels, residences and industrial design and often take on roles as producer,
and director for various projects and events.
On the blog, I write about my projects and little things in
everyday life.
