ミーティング・Meeting

トランジットジェネラルオフィスの中村貞裕さんとhair/make-upアーティスト
の冨沢ノボルさんとミーティング。何年か先に完成する予定の大規模なSOHOプ
ロジェクトなんですが、随分前から知り合いの中村さんと今回初めて仕事でご
一緒します。冨沢さんにはパウダールームの相談にのってもらっています。
いつも思うのですが、中村さんは良い意味で軽やかなスタンス。
見習う点が多いです。彼の周りには、ハッピーなオーラが漂っています。
絶対成功させましょう！また少しずつブログで進行を発表します。
I had a meeting with Sadahiro Nakamura of Transit General Office, and
Noboru Tomizawa, hair/make-up artist.
This is for a big Soho building projects which will take several year
to be completed. I have known Mr. Nakamura for several years, but this
is the first time for us to work together. Mr. Tomizawa is giving me
his advice on what the grand powder room should look like.
It will be a cross between a 'powder room', a dressing room and a lounge area.
I have always thought that Mr. Nakamura has a good easy going stance,
a trait that I'd like to adapt.
I feel like there is always a positive aura surrounding him.
We want this project to work and be successful.
I will post the progress of this project on this blog.

ディーン＆デルーカ ジャパンとCIBONEのボス、若き青年実業家の横川正紀。
東京駅「GranSta(グランスタ)」に10/25にオープンするディーン＆デルーカ新
店舗のディレクションの打ち合わせに行きました。
いつも真剣にお店のことを考えていて、頭が下がります。
でも、ギリギリまで変更かけてくるのは、勘弁してー（笑）
This is Masaki Yokokawa, the young buisness man, and the big boss of
Dean&DeLuca Japan and Cibone. We had a meeting on the new store
opening in 「GranSta」Tokyo Station on October 25th, 2007,
where I do design direction.
I take off my hat to his guts to really care about every single
details of the store.
But, please do not send us any modifications at the last minute!
アップルカップル ユージーン＆ローラ・Apple Couple Eugene&Laura

アップルでプロダクトデザイナーをしているEugeneと、グラフィック部門の
Lauraが来日。東京に来ると食事をする友達です。お互いの仕事の意見交換を
する良い関係が続いています。iPhone見せてもらって、全く新しい概念のツー
ルで、すごくフレンドリーな存在にびっくり！
Eugene who is a product designer and Laura, a graphic designer, both
work for Apple. We often have lunch or dinner when they come to Tokyo.
It is nice to have friends to share ideas with.
He showed me the iPhone. I was surprised by its totally new concept
and that it has a super friendly interface!
OSAMU YOKONAMI EXHIBITION [innocent]

僕の大好きな写真家、横浪修がファーストエキシビションを開いています。
実は、専門学校の同期で、同じ寮でした。２０年来の付き合いです。
２０年前の彼と、今の彼は何一つ変わっていません。
彼の人柄が表れた文字通りの[innocent]な写真を見て、心を洗われました。
時間があれば是非みてください。
あまりにも写真がよかったので、数点購入しちゃいました。
届いたらまた紹介します。
ちなみに、このブログの上に出ている僕のポートレイトは彼の撮影です。
One of my favorite photographers, Osamu Yokonami, is holding his first
exhibition right now.
Actually, we were classmates, and were in the same dormitory.
We have been friends for more than 20 years.
He is still the same as he was 20 years ago.
His work really embodies his personal ‘innocent’ character, just as
the title of the show states, and the show really purified my heart
and touched me.Please visit this exhibition if you have time.
The exhibition was so good, I ended up purchasing several pieces.
I will post the image upon delivery.

ワンダーウォールの物件写真をすべて撮ってくれている高山幸三さん。
写真の腕はもちろんですが、顔もなかなかイケメンです。
見かけによらず繊細で、シャイな男です。
たくさん仕事がたまってるんで、これからもよろしく。
Photographer, Kozo Takayama, documents all of our projects.
Needless to say, he is a good photographer, and he is also quite good
looking. Despite his appearance, he is sensitive and shy.
I still have many projects that need to be photographed,
so I am counting on you.
Taro Nasu Gallery

松江泰治さんの写真の取り扱いを調べていて、連絡を取ったのが始まりなんで
すが、偶然にも同じ岡山出身、同学年のTaro Nasu Gallery那須太郎さん。
今回は松江さんのモノクロとカラーの写真を数点購入。
新しいアートの動向や作家の事について、わかりやすく教えてくれて
いつも勉強になっています。いつもおしゃれで、ギャラリーのオーナーという
よりはファッション関係者みたいな人です。
I happened to meet him when I was looking for the primary gallery for,
photographer, Taiji Matsue. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that
the owner of Taro Nasu Gallery, Taro Nasu, is from the same hometown,
Okayama, and thatwe're the same age.
This time, I purchased several photographs of Taiji Matsue, in
monochrome and color.
He always fills me in on what's going on in the art scene and about
new artists in an easy-to-understand way, so I learn new things every
time I see him.
He dresses very fashionably that one would think that he was in the
fashion industry rather than the art world.

打ち合わせでHysteric Glamour Showroomへ。
兄貴的存在の北村さん。この日は打ち合わせもそこそこにJack Blackの話で大
盛り上がり。いつも打ち合わせの半分は音楽やアートのこと。
そういう会話の中に、Hysteric Glamourのあり方が潜んでいたりするんです。
いつもありがとうございます。またいろいろと教えてください。
I went to the Hysteric Glamour Showroom for a meeting.
Designer Nobuhiko Kitamura is like an older brother to me.
As soon as we finish talking about business, we had a funny conversion
about Jack Black. We always spend half of the meeting talking on music
and art.
It is in those types of casual conversations where you will get a
sense of what the original brand concept of Hysteric Glamour is all about.
Mr. Kitamura, I appreciate sharing your thoughts. I always enjoy
talking to you.

恵比寿にオフィスがあります。
ますますこのエリアが楽しくなってきて、何気ない裏道に面白いお店があります。
My office is in Ebsiu.
This area is changing, and you will find very interesting shops on the
back streets.
1件目: tamiser
ビルの２階にあるantiques tamiser.
まめに顔を出さないと、どんどん商品がなくなるので、
ついついルーティーンで回ってしまいます。
オーナーの吉田昌太郎さん。良い商品が入ったら一番に教えてください。
No.1: This store, antiques tamiser, is located on the second floor.
I have to keep coming back to check out new stuff, otherwise they sell
out of things right away. Shotaro Yoshida, owner of Antiques Tamiser.
I would like to be the first to know when good stuff arrives.
2件目: limart
tamiserの斜め向かいのビル。
いつもお邪魔してついつ買い物をしてしまう店。
古書や雑貨、そして奥にギャラりーを持つ気持ちよい店。
オーナーの中島さんにはいろいろ教えてもらっています。
No.2: This store, Limart, is located across the streets from tamiser.
I often visit this store, and purchase something every time.
They carry vintage books, gadgets, and with a gallery in the back,
this store has a certain coziness that I like.
Mr. Nakajima, owner of limart, teaches me many things.
3件目: ecriture
Limartの２階にも、骨董とジュエリーを扱うお店がオープンしています。
NO.3: On the second floor of limart, there is a relatively new
antique&jewerly store.
4件目: maison martin margiela
坂を降りていくと、マルジェラがあります。
No.4: Towards the bottom of the hill, there is maison martin margiela.
恵比寿だけでこれだけ楽しめるんです。
Ebisu amuses me this much.
ミラノ・Milan

某ブランドの打ち合わせで、ミラノに行ってきました。まだ言えないけど、本当に打ち合わせだけしてトンボ帰りでした。
I made a quick trip to Milan last week for business meetings for a new project.
今回はFour Seasons Milanに泊まりました。こじんまりしていて、素敵なホテルです。特に廊下のクラッシックな様式の天井と、フラットなガラスの組み合わせが好きなディテールです。
I stayed at the Four Seasons Milan this time. This is a very elegant hotel with nice cozy atmosphere.As one of the details, I especially liked the combination of the classic-style corridor and flat clear glass which gives a modern feeling.
Dolce&Gabbanaプロデュースで話題のGOLD。デザイン的には思ったより衝撃が少なかったです。食事も。。。
This is 'GOLD', the new restaurant produced by Dolce&Gabbana. I expected the interior to be more 'designed' than it was, and also food...
ASPESIを外から。これまでのASPESIのイメージを大きく裏切る、すばらしく肩の力が入ってない店で感動しました。さすがAntonio Citterio ＆ Tomatoのチーム。普通なんだけど、什器の配置とか、ディスプレーの組み合わせがよく計算されています。こういうのが意外と難しいんです。
This is the ASPESI store taken from the street. I think this store brings a completely new image to the brand, and I was impressed by the effortlessness and ease in the design by the Antonio Citterio & Tomato team. It seems very ordinary, but the layout of the furniture and combination of the displays are well thought out. Surprisingly, designs like this is harder to accomplish than one would imagine.
打ち合わせのあと外にでたらゲイ・パレードの真っ最中。すごくカラっとしていてみんな楽しそう。
After the meeting, the street was in the middle of the Gay Pride Parade. Everyone seemed like they were having a great time, and totally uninhibited.
