WONDERWALL BOOK PROJECT

実は来年ワンダーウォールの本を出版予定です。そこで本のスペシャリストの
ハックネットオーナー安岡さんにスーパーバイザーとして参加してもらっています。
前回の本のVolume2的なものになる予定なので、乞うご期待。
安岡さんは定期的に本のコンシェルジェサービス的な事をお願いしていて、
本屋というよりはカルチャーのコンサルタント的な分野で頼りにしています。
We have started working on our 2nd monograph scheduled to come out next year.
Mr. Yasuoka, who is a book specialist and owner of Hacknet is
supervizises this project. This book will be the Volume 2 of the previous one,
so don't miss it.
Mr. Yasuoka periodically provides me a kind of concierge service on books,
I am counting on him more as culture consultant than a book store
owner.

KITSUNÉのマサヤが日本に帰ってきたので、LOOPWHEELERの鈴木さんと３人でランチを
食べにいってきました。彼の洋服ブランド、音楽、政治。。。。意見交換をして有意義
な時間を過ごしました。フランスから見た日本の話は興味深くて、日本にいる僕から
すると危機感を感じざるを得ない様な話も多かったです。
ループウィラーの鈴木さんは、僕のTシャツを作ってもらったり、僕がお店のデザインを
させてもらったりしています。すごく人間味があって、正直な人。
僕たちは、学生服という枠の中でどうやって個性を出せるかという事にすごく一生懸命に
なっていた世代です。学生ズボン一つとっても、何種類もありました。 今思うと笑っちゃ
うけど、小さなディテールの一つ一つに真剣になっていたし、比較検討を勉強より一生懸
命していたかも。同じ世代の人なら分かりますよね？
マサヤは、フランスで育ったからそんなぼくらの話をとても面白がって聞いてました。
世代と育った国が違くても、同じマインドの仲間と話せば楽しいものですよね。
今日は時間が足りなかったから、またゆっくり晩ご飯でも行きましょう。
Masaya of KITSUNÉ just returned to Tokyo, so we had lunch together along with Mr. Suzuki
of LOOPWHEELER.
We talked about Masaya's fashion label, music, politics, etc....
We exchanged our honest opinion and spent a fruitful time.
Masaya's comment on Japan from the point of view from the French was quite interesting,
and some of the stories made me feel anxious about the current state of things in Japan.
Mr. Suzuki, the owner of Loopwheeler, has produced my T-shirts, and I designed his flagshipstore.
He is very honest man with great humanity, We are both from a generation that expressed
our individuality within the confinements of school uniforms. Even school trousers had various
patterns and details. I can recall it now. We were completely obsorbed about the smallest details,
and it made me think that we both may have been more serious about the details of out uniform brands
than studying. I guess people from my generation understand what I mean.
Masaya seemed amused by all of this, since he grew up in France and didn't have a chance to
experience this.
Despite our differences in generations or where we grew up, this reminded me that it is always fun
to spend time with friends whom you can relate to.
I felt as though we didn't have enough today, so I guess we should have a long dinner next time.
KAWS

毎日バタバタとしていたらあっという間に８月。
アップが遅れていた来日日記です。
ハニカムではお隣さんのKAWS.
OriginalFakeで一緒に仕事をした彼が来日したのでランチを一緒に。
ランチの際に、ブログの話になり、写真をパチリ。
Time flies. It is already August.
Here is a belated update on my friends trip to Japan.
Kaws is my nextdoor neighbor on honeyee.
We worked together on his store, OriginalFake.
We had lunch together while he was in Tokyo and while eating, we were
chatting about our blog and we decided to take photo of each other.
そのあと、RAT HOLE GALLERYへ。
名前の通り、ネズミの穴があるんです。ねずみもちゃんといて、オープン当初
は入り口ののぞき穴の一匹だけだったのですが、
途中から仲間が増えています。その事を教えたら、知らなかった様で写真を撮るKAWS.

After lunch, we went to RAT HOLE GALLERY.
As the gallery name states, there is a rat hole. At the time when the
gallery first opened, there was only one rat in the peephole, but he
has a friend now.
He did not know about his new friend, so Kaws tried to capture him.
This is what he captured.
ギャラリー巡りをした後で休憩。
ここで、やっと二人の写真をパチリ。

After visiting a few galleries, we took tea break.
Finally, we took a photo together.
I am posting the outtake of what Kaws posted. We're in a relaxed nice mood.
日本に来る度に一緒にご飯を食べているのですが、お店をオープンする時に僕
にデザインをして欲しいと言ってくれたときは、本当に嬉しかったです。
繊細な気配りは、良い意味で日本人以上かもしれません。
アートの事だけでなく、ビジネスの事も対等に話せる良き仲間。
また一緒に何かしよう！
We have a lunch or dinner everytime he comes here, but I remember how
happy I was when he asked me to design his store.
His conscienciousness to his surrondings and sensitivities towards
others may exceed that of most Japanese people.
He is a good buddy to discuss on art and business.
We should work on new project!
