100% Chocolate Café. やThe Tokyo Towersではデザインプロデューサー、
今年は清澄白河でギャラリーもはじめるアンドーギャラリーの安東さんにお誘い頂いて
オゾンのセミナーに参加しました。来てくれた方、ありがとうございました。
The design producer for 100% Chocolate Café and The Tokyo Towers,
is also starting a gallery in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, Mr. Ando of Ando Gallery invited me to
speak at the Ozon. I would like to say thank you to everyone who attended this event.

JUN50周年記念イベント bungalow50に参加しました。
50人のアーティストが作品を出品し、ネットでオークションをします。
その売上金が国境無き医師団とユニセフに寄付されます。
Wonderwall participates in, bungalow50, a charity event organized by
JUN CO.,LTD. in celebration for their 50th anniversary.
50 notable people from the creative world were invited to design T-shirts
which are being auctioned on their website.
The sales from the auction will be donated to UNICEF and Doctors Without Boarders.

先日、作品の展示がスタートしたのでレセプションに行ってきました。
I attended the opening reception.

今回、JUNさんから頂いたテーマはTシャツ。
そこで、一度ご一緒してみたいと思っていたペロクーン森川まどかさんとご一緒させ
て頂くことにしました。そして、ハンバーガービルをテーマにオブジェを創ってもらいました。
The theme JUN gave us was "T-shirts". So, I decided to collaborate with Madoka Morikawa
of Peloqoon whom I've been longing to work with. I asked her to create a piece entitled,
"The Hamburger Building".

この作品を出品しようと思っていたのですが、もう一ひねりしたくなり
今度はフォトグラファーの菅原一剛さんに撮影を依頼。
相談した結果、モノクロいこうという事になり、プラチナプリントで
焼いてくれました。本物のプラチナを使って現像するこの製法は、
奥行きが本当に綺麗にでます。
I was thinking of submitting this as is, but decided to give it a twist.
I asked photographer, Ichigo Sugawara, to shoot this
piece in black and white and print it in platinum print.
This method uses real platinum and gives this really beautiful depth
to the image.

販売用Tシャツは、ハンバーガービルをイラスト化してもらいました。
For the series of T-shirts to be sold, I had an illustrated version of
Ms. Moriakawa's work printed.

先日可不可一周年パーティーに呼んで頂きました。
早いもので一周年、宮下さんおめでとうございます。

この日はスタンディングパーティーでしたが、こういう使い方も面白いですね。
また遊びに行きます。

There was a party in celebration of Kafka's 1st anniversary.
A year has gone by so quickly. Congratulations Mr. Miyashita.

Unlike the regular table/seat setting, it was nice to have a standing
party. I will come back for dinner.

オレゴン州ポートランドに行ってきました。

滞在中Wieden+Kennedyのオフィスへ、John Jayに誘われて行ってきました。
When I was in Portland Oregon, I was invited to John Jay's office at Wieden & Kennedy.

現在このオフィスで働いているスタッフのポートレート達が入り口でお出迎え。
When I enter the office building I was welcomed with a wall filled with
portraits of everyone at the office.

ダイナミックな空間構成です。
建築家はAllied Worksのブラッド・クローフィルさん。
The architect is Brand Cloepfil of Allied Works. Dynamic space layout.




ここでランチの時間にコンサートをする事もあるそうです。
Apparently, concerts are sometimes held here during lunch hours.

地元のアーティストによる作品。
Object by local artist.

ワイヤーなどを使わず小枝だけでつくっている鳥の巣。
中のソファーのファブリックも地元のアーテイストによるものだそうです。
心地良いスペース。
This is a birds nest made with only small branch, no wires.
The fabric on the sofa is also made by a local artist.
Nice cozy space.

ディナーの前にポートランドツアーをしようと外に出てみたら、
サプライズが。自転車タクシーです。ずらっと並んで待っていました。
When we went outside for a tour of Portland, there was a surprise.
Pedal Taxis were waiting for us.

そして今度はJohn Jayのプライベートスタジオ、Studio Jへ。
Then, the next stop was John Jay's private studio, Studio J.

最終目的地のレストランは、ACE HOTEL内。
ということで、先にACE HOTELを見学。
Our final destination was a restaurant inside the ACE HOTEL, but first
the tour of the hotel.




なんてことないこのセンスが難しいんですよね。
It requires sense to create this ordinary looking atmosphere.
This type of sensibility is no easy task.

すばらしいツアーをありがとう。

翌朝はホテルの近所のデリで朝食。
Following morning,breakfast in the neighborhood.

いろいろとインプットも出来たし、良い旅でした。
This was a productive trip.
