Do you know CURT HOPPE ?
Go and see his new show, perfectly called "GIRLS OF ACTION"
at La B*A*N*K gallery, 42 rue de volta Paris 3eme.
Exhibition Through March 31st.
I loved his first show in Paris at La B*A*N*K too, it was called "STREETS".
Love his art , hyper-realistic paintings, shooting and showing a certain kind of american way of life, details in the streets, funny faces, funky attitude, and specific aspects of american culture like roller girls fight or art of burlesque. Makes me think into Charlie's angel, Playboy, David Hockney, Vargas, Guy Peellaert... and all masters of American Realism, among them Steven Assael, Don Eddy, or Christopher Evans.
Curt Hoppe was Born in 1950 in St Paul, Minnesota - USA, he lives and works in New-York.
And You can smell it. You can feel the big Apple. So much. Realism, it is called.
Paintings incredibly looking like photos, photos looking like paintings !
